Monday: This Monday was just a normal school day for me. I picked Andreas up at the station at 16.20 pm. I was a little bit nervous because I thought that he was going to be a bit of a rude guy, but infect he wasn’t, he was a very nice and a very sweet guy. We went home and I showed him his room. He really liked our house. We chatted for a while and we found out that we both are big Marvel fans and that he could draw very well. He drew Spider-man for me and me and my parents gave it a nice place, where it still hangs today. Than we had dinner and he really the food my dad cooked for us. He also brought some presents with him for my family from Greece which we really enjoyed.

 

Tuesday: At 9 am we had to be at school. It was really funny watching Andreas to ride my dads bike, but he did pretty good. When we arrived at school we had a little introduction which was given by the ‘headmaster’. The logs where also being explained. A log is was a ‘book’ with all the information. Than there was explained what the project was and what we were going to make. After this there was a quizzzz. After that we had to give a tour around the school. I heard some students say that they found our school pretty big, and I found that really funny. In the afternoon we where going to the Main Street. We had to do a scavenger hunt. This was really fun to do. After this we went on a tour through the windmill of Hoogeveen. Which was surprisingly cool. When this was done we went to the city hall of Hoogeveen. We took a picture there which got in the newspaper. After this we went home and we ate a very delicious meal, what Andreas liked as well.

 

Wednesday: Again we had to be at school at 9 am. We had a evaluation and preparation. We talked about what we thought about the project. After this we separated in little groups so we could work on the project. We had a pretty good idea which was called ‘Hoogeveen bikes’. We worked pretty hard and Keran and I found it very good from the girls in our group that they made a division of tasks. Because there where other groups where it went a little bit less good. After this we joined a little lesson of Kerans normal lessons. I found this idea very good, but the downside of it was that the students couldn’t understand a word. In the afternoon we went to kamp Westerbork. This is a camp the place where the Jews were being held in the ww2. Personally I found it very ‘fun’? let’s just say I found it interesting. I had been there 4 times, but it was fun anyway, and I learned some new things as well. It was nice to see that the other students liked it too. The program ended at 17.00 pm. At home it was cozy, Andreas did what he wanted to do and so did I. and if he wanted we did something together.

 

Thursday: Today we were going to zoo Wildlands in Emmen. It was a really fun day. First me and the group of students went to the Nortica, this is the north pole part of the zoo. We went to a 4D movie, where I already had been in like 4 times, but the other students really enjoyed it. After this we went to the penguin’s, which were fun like always. Then we moved on to the polar bears. What I found really weird was the fact that the Spanish students, who were with me had never seen a polar bear before. Then we went on to my favorite part which was Jungola, the jungle part. We went climbing there. We also got in a boat and that was really fun. At the end of the jungle we went to buy an ice cream. Then we moved on to the Serenga, the savanna part, were we where a little to long. Because we first went to see the goat’s. That was fun. After this we made a little trip with bus and then at last we got in to the twystrijd. Which was a rollercoaster. I think we did the same ride 15 times, but it was just to much fun. I really enjoyed today.

Friday: it was Friday and today we had to present our project that we made. I wasn’t really that nervous until I got there. It went pretty good although we had some thoughtless things. In the afternoon we went swimming in Assen at de Bonte Wever. We went down the slide super much. I really enjoyed the afternoon with everybody.

 

Saturday: Today we needed to wake up early. We were going to Amsterdam. When we arrived at Nemo I was still a bit tired but that changed very quickly. Because I found it amazing there. There was so much to see and do. I lost my group though but that didn’t really matter. After we went to Nemo, we made a boat trip trough the Amsterdam canals. The Spanish students, who where sitting with us, where making pictures of everything they saw. While Danny and I were like, c’mon guys its just a building, and that was really funny. When we arrived at the dock we had some free time. We went to McDonald’s, which was very crowded. When we where done eating we went to a souvenir store, I think they’re never going to forget this place with all those souvenirs. When we arrived home Andreas and I had some time for ourselves. In the evening we had a party at school. Which was really fun en  I ate very good. We also danced and it was hilarious. When we wanted to go everyone was in tears, I found it really sad that the weak  was already over.

 

Sunday: The day of saying goodbye to everyone. When we got down to the station everyone was already in tears. I was also being hugged by some students. And then you realize what an amazing week it had been. And how fast you can build up a connection with people. When the went to the platform I started to get a bit sad that they already had to leave. This was an amazing week, and im looking forward to Orte.
