Monday: Today we were going to Greece. We had to be at the train station at 8 am, so i woke up early to get the last things done. When we arrived at the station, almost everybody was already there. We went to the platform and our train came, we had to go. We waved goodbye, and we where gone. This was my second time flying, so I was a bit nervouse. We had a flight of almost 3 hours and 45 min so it was a pretty long flight. It was an our later in Greece so it was already 16.45 pm. We got out of the airport and got on a little bus it took us around 2 hours to get in Aliveri, were the host family's where already waiting for us. Zacharula was waiting for me there with her mother. I waved al my friends goodnight, and got in to the car. It was a long drive and because of that i tought about home. I thought that i was over that but apperiently i was not. When we got to zacharulas home she showed me my room. I was really tired. We ate dinner with something called spinaz pie, i didn t really like it but is was ok, and than i went to bed. 

 

 

Tuesday: I had to wake up early. I had a sandwich which we call a tosti in the Netherlands. Than we went to school, it was a long drive with a great view. I really enjoyed  these rides. We arrived at school and we got a little tour trough the school. When this was done we went to their library and thre was explaned what we where going to this week. After this the groups got announced, with this group we did a workshop. We got to do the workshop fotographic, and to be honest...... it was kind of boring. We didn't get to anything apart from listening. When this was done we had a break, the teachers from Greece gave us bread which was really dry. In this break we played soccer in the burning sun. Than the bus arrived and we drove us to the place where we would be eating luch. It was located next to a beautiful sea. We ate a gyros sandwich, and it was very good. When we were done eating we got to go to the sea. Which was very beautiful. We took pictures and got back on the bus. The bus drove us to a place where they showed us they made spinaz pie. it was pretty cool to she. Than the bus drove us back to the place where the parents always wait to get us. We got home and i wasn't really hungre, so i didn't eat. I also experienced home sickness again but i came to my senses really quick. Than i went to bed. 

 

Wednesday: Today i had to wake up a bit earlyer. I had breakfast, and zacharula's mother brought us, but this time not to school. She brought us closer to house and we needed to wait there. Luckaly Hanna was also brought there so i wasn't alone. Than the bus came and it drove us down to archaeological museum. We got spit up in to 2 groups. I was in the first group and we got to go in first, the other group first got a tour outside. It was a bit boring, but that's just because I don't really like history. Than we got outside and we got a little tour. After this we got to do some questions. These where pretty fun. After this we would going to be doing something i was pretty excited about, we were going to walk in the nature of Greece. Sadly our guide got sick so we had to walk on our own. it was a pretty fun walk because we got to walk past and kind of trhough a little water stream, something i really like to do. After this we ate. And got back on the bus. The bus arrived and we got a lecture about the special ebb and flow of the see. It was interesting but really boring to because i didn't really understand the guy who was giving the lecture. After this we got some free time and i tried to hit a arcade machine with my feet (the one with the boxing ball) but i tript and i fell on my back, it really hurt. Danny carried me to the bus and that was really funny. When we got back i explaned it to Zacharula's mother. We drove home and again i wasn't hungry. I didn't have any home sickness.  

 

Thursday: Today we had to work on the project. My morning was like eachother. First we got to do something with pictures and brands i think. I think i almost got them all right. Then we got a link and we needed to do a test/quiz. This was about what we already knew about Athene. Then we got a list of things to choose. We needed to make a breakfast, lunch and dinner with typical greek food. This didn’t go so well. At the end we got our certificate. I think it was 12.00 when the bus arrived. He brought us to an organic farm. We had to wait a little while, but than the owner came and let us in. Because I fel on my back the day before i couldn’t walk up easely. The farm owner told us about his farm and the vegetables. Then we where going to eat. But the owner thought that we would come a day later so we had no food. So it took a WHILE for them to get something to eat for us. At the end it was verry good, but it still took really long. Then we went to our last activity of the day, we were going to a fig ‘factory’. The smell there was really bad. We got split up in 2 different groups. I was in the second one. We got an explenation about the figs, and i even got some for free. I was going to give them to my dad because he really wanted some. That night we didn’t eat at Zacharulas house but at someone else’s. I didn’t really get why. We ate. And than we were going to go out with all the other students. I normaly don’t go out, so this was very new for me. But i exually didn’t want to go because i was really tired from al the walking and the exhausting week. I also got home sickness again and that was very terrible. Luckily the other students came to calm me down, and thay said i shouldn’t cry lol, like could do anything about it hahahaha. finaly Zacharula’s mother came to pick us up, and i could finaly go to  sleep.

Friday: Athene, the day we have all been waiting for. We got on the bus and it was a long ride till we were there. We arrived in Athene at 11.45 am. We first went to a museum of old greak history. It had all kinds of old stuf, from old statue’s, to an lego Acropolis rebuild. At 13.00 we were done with the tour and we went to Acropolis it was pretty cool to see, but what i found most interesting was the view. Everywhere you looked you saw buildings and streets. Athene was so big, it blew my mind. At around 14.00 we had some free time. I bought some things form my Parents. The city was very beautifull and what i liked most was the route that we were walking. At some point we walked trough a street which was filled with people because there where all kinds of restaurants, it was very beautifull to see. We got back on the bus and drove back to Aliveri. We stopt to get some ice cream, which was very delicious. Than we went home. And this time I did joint he familie for dinner but i didn’t eat because i wasn’t hungry, which was still pretty weard for me.

 

Saterday: Today was the last day that we were in Aliveri. This was very sad, and unlike the other exchange I was very sad that I had to go home, because again I made so many new friends. Today i wanted to go swimming so i packed everything I needed for that. We would go to a horse club and ride horses but apparently this wasn’t going to happend, I still don’t know why. But instead we got down to a little beach and we sad down at a resaurant and ordert something to drink. This was very chill. In the afternoon we had some free time to spend with the host family’s but the spanish and the dutch students liked the idea to go swimming. So we got tot he beach where we would also had the farewell party. We had a ton of fun. We got back home and I took a quick shower and got ready fort he farewell party. At the farewell party everybody made something nice. There was a lot toe at. I got to meet Andreas his parents. They where very sweet and they even made me something to give to my parents. I was kind of suprised and i felt kind of bad because i could not give them anything back. They thanked me because Andereas had such a good time in The Netherlands. And i was very pleased to hear that. I also told them that i really enjoyed my time in Greece. It was a great night and I had lots of fun. We stayed till late. And i waved everybody goodbye, especially the Spanish students because they were going to leave early. Than we went home and I went to bed.

 

Sunday: Today we were going home. I did not have to get up early because our train left late. At 12 we had to be at ‘the collection point’. Than we said goodbye gave hugs and left. We were driving in the same bus as when we arrived. We had to wait a long time on the airport so we had lots and lots of free time. 17.30 ‘BOARDING TIME. We needed to board fast because otherwise we had to wait pretty long. We go tour dinner on the plane. It wase a pizza and it was very good. 20.00 dutch time we landed back on schiphol. We left mr. Oosting behind because he was going on vacation. Than we went on the train and went back home. We were in Hoogeveen around 23.00, and i was very happy to see everybody again. Wen we got home i unpacked my stuff and gave my parents my gift and the gift that Andreas his parents gave to me. They really liked both gifts and were just as seprised as me that we got a gift from Andreas. Again, this was great week I will never forget. And for all the friends that I made, I hope we meet again.
