A little something about myself

In daily life I am a physical education teacher and I am also a head trainer at a korfball club. I have different hobbies and I am particularly interested in things that I don't know. I like to ride my motorcycle, active mountain biking, rollerblading and other sports. The aim of our Erasmus project was to improve 20-century skills and entrepreneurial skills. Our project took the form of a tourist guide with an environmentally friendly means of transport in which local sights and products from the region were brought to the attention, with different ways of application, digitally, but also as an old-fashioned map.

Why do I find the project so important, even visiting other countries and their cultures at all? It is very easy to look no further than your nose, to put your head in the sand if something happens elsewhere in the world, but we as the Netherlands cannot make that, as a country we depend on the world for sale and purchasing products, for knowledge about diseases, for the future of our children, in other words, we need everyone and everyone needs us.

This project gives our students the opportunity to look into the kitchen of another country, literally with the other types of food and spices, but also in terms of habits and norms and values, the entire culture. Perhaps the most important aspect is history, we as the Netherlands do not really have a history of our own, unlike the other countries. To be able to collaborate with other countries later, you need some knowledge about the culture and the norms and values and how things come about.

So international projects super important!
